Introduction: Ossifying fibroma is a well-defined and occasionally encapsulated neoplasm, composed of fibrous tissue, containing variable amounts of calcified tissue. Objective: To present the clinical case of a patient with a diagnosis of ossifying fibroma of rare onset and evolution, which was only defined through histology.
Clinical Case: Female patient, 26 years old, with a health history, and localized volume increase in the interpapillary gum of upper right molars, with regular edges, covering the hard and soft palate, not painful, with a firm consistency, nodular surface, hyper-colored, which starts from a pedicle but settles and adheres to the palate, 4 cm in diameter, with an initial diagnostic impression of pregnancy granuloma, which continued to grow slowly until affecting mastication and swallowing.
Conclusions: Histopathological study is necessary for the definitive diagnosis of this entity, due to its clinical and radiographic similarity, both in its onset and in its evolution, with other hyperplastic lesions of the oral cavity.
