Technology for proper selection of patient flow modeling approaches
Keywords:

Introduction: In order to improve the quality of health services, governments develop a set of public policies, for which tools have been developed to classify patient flows.
Objective: To propose an assistive technology for the correct selection of patient flow modeling approaches.
Methods: The research paradigm is qualitative, based on a bibliographic review in the PubMed and SCOPUS databases, and the Google Scholar search engine; carried out during the period 2004-2024. The validation was carried out using expert criteria, with a pilot application in the General Surgery service of the Faustino Pérez Provincial Clinical Surgical Teaching Hospital.
Presentation: A checklist was designed to support health managers according to the problems to be solved or analysis to be carried out in the service. For processing and interpretation, an instrument was designed to show the possible approaches to be used from the combination of variables.
Conclusions: An assistive technology was designed for healthcare managers for the correct selection of patient flow modeling approaches and thus improve decision-making processes during the implementation process.
