Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study, carried out during the years 2020 and 2021. The MICMAC structural analysis tool was used to identify and track real and simulated cases in the population of the municipalities of the province of Sancti Spíritus.
Results: The people and their interrelationship were identified, an accurate assessment of the chains of contagion was issued, the forecasting, prognosis, monitoring and intervention processes were optimized to stop the spread of the virus and contributed to improve timely decision-making.
Conclusions: The use of the tool optimizes and allows for improved decision-making to contain the spread of the virus, with the consequent saving of resources and time.
