Introduction: The health status of older adults can be affected by different factors that have been studied. different factors that have been studied, but it is still necessary to deepen their knowledge. knowledge.
Objective: To identify the factors that affect the health status of older adults.
Methods: A systematic review was carried out based on the PRISMA method. based on the PRISMA method. Google Scholar was the search engine used. Results: 3 categories of factors were identified; clinical and physical factors; those associated with mental disorders and cognitive impairment and those related to social, economic and environmental elements.
Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a wide variety of factors capable of affecting the health status of older adults, however, the presence of chronic diseases, multimorbidity, psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression, social isolation, economic dependence, nutritional disorders and loneliness are reported as those that most frequently affect the health status of people belonging to this population group.
