Introduction: Pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma, also called pneumocytoma, benign pulmonary histiocytoma or xanthomatous pseudotumor, presents as parenchymal or endobronchial lesions of the lung. The most frequent form of presentation is the asymptomatic solitary pulmonary nodule, but it can also present with multiple lesions in the lung and other organs. It is a rare disease in which surgical treatment is the most effective approach. Objective: To present a rare form of pulmonary sclerosing hemangioma.
Case Report: 59-year-old patient who presented with chest pain of 4 months of evolution. Chest radiographic studies were performed, in which disseminated nodular images were observed; tomography showed metastatic lesions. He underwent videothoracoscopy in which nodular, pearly white lesions were visualized, reporting a diffuse variant of multicentric sclerosing hemangioma of the lung.
Conclusions: Multiple pulmonary nodules, constitute a rare and atypical presentation of pulmonary hemangiomatosis.
