Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission is an original article, which has not been previously published in another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor, regarding the deposit in a digital repository or preprint).
  • The submission file is in .doc or .docx format. The text uses Times New Roman font, has 1.5 line spacing; 12 point font size; and all illustrations, figures and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text (or marked if they are as a Supplementary File).
  • The text MEETS the requirements summarized in the Instructions for Authors

The editorial process of this Journal is carried out online. To submit an article you must register as an Author. From your user profile you can submit the item and track your submission.

During submission you must complete on the platform all the metadata for each of the authors.

This journal is OPEN ACCESS and DOES NOT CHARGE FEES OF ANY KIND at any stage of the editorial process, for submission, processing or publication of articles.

Before reading these instructions, we recommend that you consult the Policies Section of the Journal.


Articles that do not comply with all the aspects outlined in these Instructions for authors will not be accepted for review. When the article is rejected in the initial review, the authors may upload an update of the article. The editorial team of the Revista Cubana de Medicina Militar decides whether to allow the updated document to be processed again or to reject it definitively.

Editorial

The Editorials are brief perspectives on topics relevant to the objectives of Revista Cubana de Medicina Militar. They are usually made by request. They can also express a position of the Editorial Board, introduce an issue or present an important topic for the Journal.

Research Article

The Research Articles present originality in the findings and knowledge, offer theoretical, empirical, experimental or methodological advances in their respective fields of research. Negative findings and reanalysis of previous studies are recommended, leading to new results; as well as confirmatory results.

Clinical Practice Article

They are research articles that describe case series from routine clinical practice (i.e., groups or series of case reports involving patients who received similar treatment; usually more than three cases, not an individual case). Case series include a description of characteristics and outcomes among a group of people with a disease or an exposure (which may be an intervention) over a period of time, without a control group.

Technology Presentation

It presents an original research and development article that reports on a technology related to military medicine or medical sciences in general, that is, a set of knowledge and techniques that are applied in an orderly manner to achieve a certain objective or solve a problem. It can deal with organizational, management, healthcare or teaching aspects.

Brief Communication

Brief Communication refers to small, narrow, often preliminary studies, containing only essential references, minimal tables and figures, which place full attention on empirical methods, results, data analysis and the implications of those results. The Editorial Board may evaluate other variants of articles in this section, as long as they cannot be included in another peer-reviewed section.

Systematic Review

Systematic Reviews address a clearly formulated question and use systematic and explicit methods to identify, select, and critically evaluate relevant research in a particular field.

Case Presentation

A case presentation should be original and provide adequate details of a single patient or a few patient cases. Describe a particularly novel or unusual case.

They may address reports of patients with a new or rare disease; report any important or novel clinical applications; help clarify the pathophysiology of the disease; show relationships between pathophysiology and the presence of undescribed signs and symptoms; report a previously undescribed relationship between two diseases; report undescribed complications of any treatment or medication; exemplify a novel or practical approach to diagnosis or disease management; present important or novel psychosocial aspects in the treatment, conduct or prevention of a health problem or disease; report syndromes that are not recognized or that are of very low incidence or prevalence, but important; and report cases of marked interest for health-related teaching.

Review Article

They are articles that carry out narrative reviews on a topic of interest; They should provide a general, balanced and complete overview of the latest discoveries in a particular field.

Opinion Article

Opinion Articles give a perspective from the authors' point of view on a current topic. Where appropriate, authors should provide a balanced view of the different opinions in the field and make clear where they express their personal views and why.

Letter to the Editor

They are brief comments, which are directly related to one or more articles published in the Cuban Journal of Military Medicine or elsewhere. They can also draw attention to a topic of particular interest. Letter to the Editor articles should provide a scholarly discussion, supported by evidence, of the published literature.

From History

History articles relate or analyze facts or figures relevant to the history of military medicine or medicine in general. It is considered relevant if the events or characters it presents enrich knowledge of the history of medical sciences or military medicine, due to their important contribution, influence in these fields, scientific, practical or teaching contributions. It may be the result of historical research, but not research; In that case, we recommend sending the article to journals with another profile.

Privacy Statement

Data collected from registered users is the usual data for peer-reviewed journals. This data includes information for communication during the editorial process. It is used to inform readers about the process.

The Editorial Board of this journal uses this data in the work of publishing and improving this journal. The data will not be transferred or sold to third parties, nor for purposes other than those established here.

Authors with articles published in this journal are responsible for the human subject data contained in their research.

The editorial team of this journal complies with the regulations on data privacy, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 149 of 2022 "On Protection of Personal Data" of the Republic of Cuba.
